Since I never take vacations and have yet to actually take an actual official vacation, I thought it would be fun to document it for the millions of nut bag listeners all over the PRC platform. I am taking off for 5 days to Las Vegas. Yes you guessed it, let the wild times roll. Starting Sunday (September 28, 2008) at 3 AM ET expect the most wild and crazy micro blogging the world has ever seen, thanks to our brand new PunkRadioCast Twitter account. You don’t have to even sign up to see the crazy shit I will be twittering about while getting drunk and cruising the strip.

This week I found a bunch of amazing records I wish I had time to talk about, but as always time is not on my side and three is all I can do. This week has been such a shit pile, but thank goodness for all the new music we received this week. If it was not for that I might have off’d myself. Shall we begin?

Banner Pilot has just finished up a seriously solid record on Go Kart Records titled, “Resignation Day”. I must say before I begin, this record has to be turned up to loud for it to come to its full potential. Maybe the person who mastered it was half deaf and somewhat retarded, but aside from that I love this record. The production is punk sounding, the vocals are raw as fuck and when you really try to stop humming each song you just listened to, you just can’t.. I have only listened to the record 11 and a half times since I got it Tuesday and each time it makes me smile. Give these guys another 3 albums and they will be the next Hot Water Music or Lawrence Arms. Fuck track number four is amazing. Go buy it!

It has been a while since our friends over at Hopeless Records released a record. It seems like the music industry has lost faith in full lengths, but nevertheless this 4 song EP from Anarbor titled “The Natural Way” is killer. Did I mention its being sold for only $2.99? As you all may or may not know I am a sucker for really good melodic pop punk and this EP is exactly that. Pop, spunky riffs, the typical pop singer sound but put together its rather amazing. This totally proves that there is no need for a full length because four very decent songs are always better than 12 shitty tracks with a great single. As much as I dislike digi only albums, this is more than well worth the 3 bones. Who knows maybe if enough of you go buy the digital album they might even put out a full length that’s not all filler and one thriller.

This next record will kick it right into high gear. Black President’s new record is self titled and after taking a bunch of listens to the record I came to the conclusion that the last thing this record needs is an album title. High energy punk rock with a bunch of metal influences and a crazy lead vocalist and that is Black Presidents new record in a nutshell. I would really like to see these guys on stage because it think it would be a hell of a show. Pound back a few beers and just go nutty. Damn I am all about the nut references today. Weird. Anywho, this is a pretty rock hard album from start to finish and the energy really gets to you after a few listens. Totally in a good way, but I would not suggest listening to this record while in a quiet library setting because you might look like a wacko jumping up and down head banging like you want some music whip lash. Yea it’s that good.

Actually its quite simple! When I go to the USA, here is a typical phone bill using Rogers

Data Plan: Usually Rogers charges .01 KB, but if you are on their new 6GB plan, they make you pay .03 cents a KB!!! New I-phone users beware. Those fuckers tripled the price. When I go to the US I limit my usage to about 3-5 MB a week. This would cost me $92 if I only used the 3 MB, 5 MB would be $150!!!

Long Distance: Rogers lets you Pre-purchase US minutes. You have two choices here you can buy
60 US Minutes for $40
120 US Minutes for $60

I usually have to go for the $60 and still go over. So if you think about it, they are charging you at best .50 cents a minute!!! The other kicker is lets say you are in Los Angeles and you need to call someone in Orange County, or even Canada they charge you even more than 50 cents!!

Text Messaging: ANYTHING you sent in the USA is $0.40 cents a MESSAGE!!! This kiills me EVERY time

So a typical bill for me since switching to the 6 GB plan looks like this, ON TOP of my regular monthly charges

Long Distance $60
Data (go with the lower number) $92
Text Message (lets say i send 20) $8

Total Cost $160 PLUS taxes, PLUS my monthly plan cost!! Usually I am at about $300.

HOW TO AVOID THAT

1.) UNLOCK YOUR PHONE!! If you dont want to pay the $60 hit me up and I will help you do it for free. Thank you GOOGLE! You have to use a GSM phone, only works for GSM

2.) Go to AT&T and buy a $15 or $25 pay as you go card, pay another $20 and get unlimited DATA and text is always free. The sim card doesnt cost you a dime. With the pay as you go card here is what you get:

- 10 cents a minute anywhere in the USA
- 30 cents a minute to anwhere in Canada
- FREE calls to anyone else in the US or Canada who is on AT&T. My family in eastern canada is on At&T for home phone and I could call them completely FREE!!

3.) Insert your new SIM card, get the rep to change any settings if necessary and VIOLA You are done. So simple. Once you have the sim you can acutally get more minutes at almost any store or even using your credit card by just calling 611.

For the Data you have a choice:

1 MB $5
5 MB $10
Unlimited data for one month $20

So now when I go to the USA I get the $15 pay as you go on AT&T, $20 unlimited so that I can use my phone as a GPS. The $15 card gives me 150 US minutes!!

My grand total is $35 and I get waaaaay more than rogers will give me for $160

Ok, so I haven’t put up an update in a long while. Where should I begin?? I know VEGAS!!! Really need to get this out of my system.

LAS VEGAS!!!!

We leave for the City of Sin in FIVE DAYS!!! We have one sweet ass vacation planned. You know, this is officially the first trip we have taken for vacation purposes only?? Despite that, we are going to be covering a variety of Vegas shows, restaurants and other goodies for your knowledge. Before I get into covering what we will be covering, I have to make all you pretty listeners aware of an upcoming Punk Rock event, PUNK ROCK BOWLING!!!

Punk Rock Bowling is a yearly event that is pretty much a hidden secret. Each January just about the whole punk rock industry (bands, record labels, media and friends) head out to Vegas for a weekend of madness. It usually gets completely wild in the greatest ways possible. If you want to head out to the event check out this site:

The event usually sells out and typically you need to know someone to get on a bowling team. Despite that, the whole weekend is a HUGE party in whichever hotel they place us. My advice is to just book a plane ticket and hit up the hotel of your choice. As long as you are in Sin City you can easily crash the event…just dont tell anyone I advised you to This years event is Jan 16-19, 2009

Now back to our trip that is next week. Here are some of the places we plan to see and things we are planning to do:

Hotel:
- Staying at the Luxor. Picked the Spa Pyramid Suite

Food:
 - Dicks: Is a personal MUST. The wait staff is exactly what it describes, DICKS. The food is great, the pricing is cheap, and there are free jello shooters Located inside the Excalibur Casino / Hote

- Taco’s and Tequila: New Mexican restaurant opening in Luxor this week. Mexican and Tequila = a favorite of Danny, myself and Mz. Jayde

- Kahunaville: A bit pricey, but they have thee best Vegas Flare bartenders. We hit this bar /restaurant EACH time we visit

- Paris Champagne Brunch: Never been, but it is highly recommended

Shows / Attractions:
- Cirque du Soliel ”Love”

- Cirque du Soleil “Mystere”

- Dolphin / Lion Habitat

- SIrens of TI

- Shark Tank swimming pool at Golden Nugget

- Rotating bar at Circus Circus (as seen in Fear and Loathing). This is a must. Been once but barely remember it

- Top of Stratosphere

- Few different Microbreweries

- FREEMONT STREET!! I think downtown Vegas is a personal favorite.

PUNKRADIOCAST TURNS 9 YEARS OLD

This year we are going all fucking out!! We are throwing probably the worlds greatest party, both at a venue and live on PunkRadioCast. All I have to say is Fat Mike, Dillinger Four, Keepin’ 6, Die Mannequin, Sex, Booze, Free Stuff, and more sex… Stay tuned. The event is only 2.5 weeks away, but I am not letting the cat out of the bag yet.
