We’ve got some exciting news over here on the Double A plus J Morning Show at Night!

First of all we have 2, yes, count them, 2 live interviews lined up for Monday. Who you ask? First off we have the amazing Keepin’ 6. Secondly we have The real kicker for Monday though? With the big ‘Election’ word being thrown around in the great north they call Canada, we’ve decided to invite NDP leader Jack Layton on air for a PRC exclusive interview. If you have any questions you’d like to ask, email PRCBinder@gmail.com.

That’s not all, we still have our Worst Music of the Week poll, courtesy of Binder’s Blog, plus, don’t forget that this week we are comparing Amberley to Macauley Caulkin to finally put to rest whether or not PRC’s favourite co-host really looks like him or not!

So tune in Monday night starting at 6 pm EST for 3 hours you will never forget!

But wait, there’s more!

On Tuesday’s edition of The Dividing Line we have 3 more live interviews for you! Kicking things off with No Harm Done, Southern Florida’s hottest new band. Then we’re going to work our way into The Deadly Sins. Finally we will be ending things off with a very intimate segment with the Offsides, definitely one of my favourite new hardcore bands.

As always we will be continuing our quest to find James a date, things could be heating up with Carly from The John and Carly Show, we’ll just have to see what happens!

Make sure you tune in to punkradiocast and check out the blog www.thebinder.wordpress.com for all of the coolest updates!

So I have decided to start (or at least try and start) blogging on a weekly basis. The reason for this new weekly Blog is for one reason and one reason only. To tell you all about the best CD’s, EP’s and vinyl’s that I come across in the many hundreds of music submissions that grace our lovely double wide corporate mail box each week. Trust me there are hundreds. This is what I love so why not Blog it eh!

So this week I found 3 very cool bands that everyone should check out.

The first is a band called Smudge. They sent us a 3 song EP and it pretty well blasts away most indie pop bands I have heard in the last year or so. It’s poppy but still has enough of an edge to not make you look like a complete pussy when someone is sitting close to you on the subway and they can hear your iPod. Trust me it happens.

The second CD is if from a band called Nemas. They also sent in a 3 song demo which kicked my ass right back to Monday morning. This is some seriously amazing punk music mixed with just a hint of brass. It is really hard to describe this band, but it’s like old Less Than Jake, new Against All Authority and Drop Kick Murphy’s all thrown in a blender. This might just be my new favorite punk band. See for yourself!

And lastly, for my first ever weekly Blog from the mail box of love is the band Hour of the Wolf. Now this is an EP split CD and I have yet to listen to the other band on the CD but this band makes me want to get up and pump my crocked ass arms in the air like I am watching a fucking chick fight. Why do I have to fucking hear 3 songs I love and then hope that the band comes out with a full length before they break up and form another simple plan rip off. Hot damn what a piss off. Regardless this shit is hot so go buy a copy!

As some of you may or may not know, we have some very longtime running shows sadly departing with the station. As the school year kicks in, it seems to bring a lot of change around the studio. Regardless, we have some really cool new shows that have started over the last few weeks, along with a few which will be starting in the next month or so. Here is the coles notes on programming changes:

The Sineadagain Show: Sinead will be staying with us, but her timeslot will move from 1-3 pm EST on Mondays to 4-6 pm EST on Mondays. Not a bad deal eh?

The Radtastic Show: Diana will be departing with PRC because of an overload of school work. Damn you Universities for taking our DJ’s!! Despite that, there may be a return when school stops harrasing her with a crazy overload.

Punk Party Remix: Luke will also unfortunately be departing with us due to schooling!!!

And now to the new shows….

Fat Mike / Josey Vogels Talk Sex: For the month of September we are going to start hosting 2 sex talk shows a month featuring Josey and Fat Mike. With their schedules very tight, we are going to be posting the exact days and times these two will be on the airwaves here. Here is Septembers Schedule:

Friday September 5th from 6 – 8 pm EST
Friday September 19th from 6-8 pm EST

Complete Control Radio: This is our newest syndication which is hosted by Joe Sib, the owner of Side One Dummy Records. Joe has put out a lot of great artists through his label including The Suicide Machines, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Casualties, Goldfinger, Floggin Molly, Big D and more!!

We Are Canadian: This is where you’ll hear all the Canadian content that the mainstream radio stations don’t play; whether it’s indie, punk, metal, acoustic, or ska, French or English, if it’s Canadian and it’s underground, then there’s a place for it on We.Are.Canadian. This show is one of our newest and it will continue to air in the Tuesday 11:00 pm timeslot

John and Carly Show: This is also another fairly new show that keeps getting better and better as time rolls on! These two should be married, in the worse way. Be sure to continue tuning in Thursday’s at 9:00 pm EST

Define the Meaning: Rumor is we will be extending the Define the Meaning show to TWO days a week, along with a live segment. Stay tuned for further details.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST…………………………..

RADIO FREE GREG RETURNS!! That is right, Mr. Greg Ross himself promised me this morning if we sent him pictures of Danny in a sun dress and high heels, he will return to the airwaves. Lets just say Danny is getting dresssed as we speak so stay tuned for more details.

I have a few other regular programming surprises approaching so stay tuned.

Hey Kiddies,

So after a marathon couple weeks of two, 2 hr shows a week, I’m burnt out! But not too burnt out to sleep too much longer on this next hot edition of The Grind – Volume XXIV (24 for all you non-Romans out there) The Famoose Friends and Class War Kids show.

That’s a weird name you say? Well you’re right!

It started off being a show with stuff from Living With Lions and A Wilhelm Scream recorded at the Winnipeg stop of the Famoose Friends and Fashion Pelts Tour sponsored by www.PunkRadioCast.com and an interview with Newfoundland’s Anarchist punk rockers The Class War Kids… but then we couldn’t stop ourselves – We also did a couple phoners with Toronto’s Late Fallen and a quick thing with Paul McKenzie from The Real McKenzies.

Did we stop there? No, we’re crazy like that, we’re also including a “From The Mailbox” segment with Rackshot out of Toronto will be spinning the brand new EP from Germany’s The Fine Print – in its’ entirety!

It’s all going down Tuesday, Aug 26th @ 2PM MST / 4PM EST (5:30PM for any Punk Rockers from “The Rock” – Newfoundland!

Also, I took some time to cut together a 7 new videos out of the live performance / interview video from some of the past artists we’ve worked with:

We are alive and made it home from ATLANTA!! Pictures are to come soon. Right now, we are at the cottage so you will have to wait. I also have some funny pictures from the cottage. So far we have already fallen out of a canoe TWICE and the drinks haven’t even begun to flow. Everyone must stay tuned for the details and lots of cool pictures.

Last night we learned that Senator McCain is out here in Atlanta and is actually staying at a hotel just down the street from us. Ever since I found that out I have been on a mission to photograph the secret service that surrounds him. I don’t actually know if you are allowed to photograph them or their vehicles, regardless I thought I would try.

We headed out for a walk early this morning to explore our area in Atlanta. During our mission I spotted a big roach, dead on the street. In Canada we dont have roaches that live outside so I wanted to take a picture. Yes, I am weird!!! Danny convinces me NOT to so I put my camera away and the FREAKIN Secret Service cars drive by and I totally missed it!!!!!! As a Canadian its my first time seeing the secret service and I am sorry for not producing the picture. In Canada here is what we have for secret service / FBI status

Off on Another Adventure

So Danny and I are on yet another adventure. This time we are headed to Atlanta to do some top secret operations. Not medical operations, but please do expect some cool pictures. I also just saw in the weather report that on Thursday Atlanta is expecting to be hit by Tropical Storm Fay!! Although I am not down with natural disasters, I will admit this is my first tropical storm experience. Not really looking forward to it and the delays that will follow since we are supposed to fly out that day. Stay tuned…
